My expertise lies at the intersection of community and product, focusing on solutions that can evolve as communities grow.  I've helped create user experiences that are beautiful, scalable, and capable of working equally as well for an individual as they will for millions of people.  

 
 

Kickstarter: New Creator Onboarding

In 2013, we set out to revamp Kickstarter's new creator experience from the ground up, with the goal of simplifying the onboarding experience, improving turnaround time for project approval, and opening up new areas where our team could educate and support creator efforts. We launched a fully redesigned product that cut project approval time by almost 90% for 75% of projects while increasing access to our community team throughout the campaign lifecycle.

 

Kickstarter Campus: User Research

Campus is Kickstarter's first online education hub for Creators. I led community team efforts to understand user journeys of creators seeking help, while partnering with design and product to create an elegant interface for creators to use. By harnessing the collective knowledge of creators, Campus scales Kickstarter expertise and helps deliver it to creators at every step of their journey.

As a completely new way of financing and publishing games, Fig's game funding platform required rethinking the user experience from the ground up. Armed with deep knowledge of the games community and crowdfunding platform design, I collaborated with a small team of product designers and engineers to develop and launch the Fig platform.
